Privacy Policy & SMS Terms
Effective July 9, 2026
Information we collect
Our website does not use cookies, analytics, or forms that collect personal information. We collect information only through direct contact with our office:
- Your name and phone number, when you call, text, or schedule an appointment with us.
- The content of text messages you send to our office number.
- Voicemail recordings and an automated transcription of them, when you leave us a message.
How we use this information
We use this information to schedule and manage appointments, send appointment reminders and confirmations, return your calls and messages, and keep records to coordinate your care.
How we share this information
We do not sell your information or share it for marketing purposes. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate our office — our phone and text messaging provider, and our website/data hosting provider (which also runs the automated voicemail transcription).
- Others, only when required by law or with your permission.
Protected health information
As a dental practice, we're also bound by HIPAA. Our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices — available at our office — separately governs how we use and disclose your protected health information for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations. This policy covers our general contact and communication practices; it does not replace our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
Data retention
We retain call, voicemail, and message records for as long as needed for patient care and applicable recordkeeping requirements.
Text messaging (SMS) terms
If you verbally consent when scheduling an appointment by phone or in person, or if you text our office number first, you will receive text messages from Del Valley Dental Care — including appointment reminders, confirmations, and replies to messages you send us. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of receiving treatment.
Message frequency varies depending on your upcoming appointments and correspondence with our office. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages. Reply HELP for help, or call us at (925) 209-CARE.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your choices
You can opt out of text messages at any time (see above). To ask about, correct, or request deletion of information we hold about you, call us at (925) 209-CARE.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
